Wow what a friendly engaging mass today. The mass was very community minded. Made me feel like the Catholic Church is alive and well! God bless the newest member Isabella Ann!

Perhaps one of the most beautiful statues I have ever had the opportunity to photograph is right here at the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. The bronze full figure representation of Rachel is a shepherdess. Here name meaning of 'ewe', a female sheep, a symbol of prosperity and security for nomadic people. The rich copper skin tones of Rachel are absolutely stunning and with variations of hue, saturation, and shade the linen stola she wears drapes in various arched ways to possibly portray the gravity of her ordeals. The engraved plaque reads: In Memory of All Innocent Victims of Abortion "Rachel mourns her children; she refuses to be consoled because her children are no more." Jeremiah 31:15

So bring your camera to Cedarburg and be sure to visit the outstanding architecture of the other outstanding temples of various faiths.

You can tell from the expression on the statue of Rachel that her sorrow runs deep as she seems lost with a gaze upon her face that looks like her thoughts are on an axis of either recall or projection or perhaps both. This is all taking place at the base of the churches stairs in which the churches brick construction serves an outstanding backdrop for her.

Very nice young priest that sings part of mass and a great voice too!

St. Francis Borgia is a very warm and dedicated community of Christians. There are A TON of young families. If you have a family with young children, you will feel very welcome with your busy little ones (just sit next to my family and no one will even notice your kids ;) The new pastor, Fr. Patrick, is young and holy with excellent homilies. If you are on the fence, COME!!! Can't wait to meet you.

Watch your speed, the roadway signs call for reduced acceleration and there are more police around every corner than I care to engage with. This is why I bring my camera.

Love Father Patrick!
